Features by plan
All plans include the core Incidentary experience: causal assembly, pre-alert capture, shared trace links, ghost service detection, service map, anomaly feed, and the Node/Python/Go SDKs.

What is a CE?
A Causal Event (CE) is one captured operation in your system. Each CE represents one inbound HTTP request, one outbound HTTP call, one queue publish, one queue consume, one job start, one job end, one webhook in, or one webhook out.
A typical API request that calls one downstream service produces 2 CEs: one HTTP_IN at the receiving service and one HTTP_OUT at the calling service. A trace across 3 services with 2 downstream calls produces approximately 6 CEs.
CE count depends on the volume of instrumented traffic, not on the number of services or team members.
Free plan limits
The Free plan does not support overage. When your workspace reaches 200,000 CEs for the month, the ingest endpoint begins rejecting new events until the next calendar month. Existing incidents and traces are still accessible.
Pro and Team overage
Overage is charged at the end of each billing cycle. You are not charged in real time as you exceed the included allowance — you receive a single overage line item when the cycle closes.
For Team plan, the CE window aligns to your subscription billing cycle, not the calendar month.
Retention
Retention is enforced at query time. An incident assembled within your retention window remains accessible until the retention period expires. Incidents assembled outside your retention window (e.g., after downgrading plans) are no longer accessible even if the underlying events are still within their physical retention.
OTLP ingestion
All plans support OTLP trace ingestion as an alternative to the Incidentary SDKs. If you already have an OpenTelemetry Collector, you can point it at Incidentary and get causal assembly, ghost services, and the anomaly feed from your existing instrumentation.
